Choose the journey that fits your time
You do not need to arrive with a finished itinerary. Start with a trip length and one or two priorities. We can arrange transport, guides and accommodation, then bring those choices together in a personal proposal.
- 4–5 days: use Almaty as your base, combining city discoveries with a mountain outing and time to settle in.
- 7–9 days: add an overnight journey to the lakes and Charyn Canyon, while keeping time for Almaty at each end.
- 10 days or more: slow the pace, add longer walks or discuss a wider route with our team. Extra destinations need their own travel time.
A suggested seven-day introduction
This is a planning example, not a fixed departure. The order and activities are adjusted to your flight times, weather, access and preferences.
- Day 1: arrive in Almaty and settle into your accommodation.
- Day 2: discover the city with time for food, neighbourhood walks and your chosen cultural stops.
- Day 3: plan a mountain outing near Almaty, with the activity level agreed in advance.
- Day 4: travel towards Charyn Canyon and continue to the Saty area for an overnight stay.
- Day 5: spend time at Kolsai Lake, choosing a shorter visit or a more active day.
- Day 6: visit Kaindy if conditions allow, then return to Almaty.
- Day 7: leave room for a final city stop or transfer to the airport.
