Kolsai & Kaindy Lakes Tour
Discover alpine lakes, Kaindy’s submerged forest and mountain landscapes. Ask about a focused 1–2-day itinerary with an optional overnight stay in Saty village. Visiting both lakes in one day means a particularly long road journey and may not suit every group. Two days gives more breathing room; the three-day example below is an unhurried alternative.
Give the lakes time
Kolsai and Kaindy are part of Kolsai Lakes National Park. For your Atria itinerary, we suggest discussing an overnight stay rather than assuming both lakes should be squeezed into a city day trip. Your preferred walking level and the time you want for photographs help determine how many days to allow.
A suggested three-day route
This example uses the Saty area as an overnight base. It can be adjusted to include Charyn Canyon, change the balance of walking and sightseeing or allow more rest between drives.
- Day 1: leave Almaty and travel towards the Saty area. Discuss a Charyn Canyon stop as part of your planned route.
- Day 2: visit Kolsai Lake and allow time for the walk or scenic visit agreed with your guide. Stay another night in the area.
- Day 3: visit Kaindy when access and conditions allow, then return to Almaty.
Kolsai and Kaindy: what makes each different
Kolsai offers a lake-and-forest mountain landscape. Kaindy is known for tree trunks rising from its water. Visiting both creates a varied itinerary, but the route should reflect actual access, weather and the group’s pace. A longer walking day is something to plan deliberately, not an automatic part of every lake visit.
Choose accommodation with clear expectations
Tell us what matters most: a private bathroom, room arrangements for a family, meal preferences or a particular comfort level. Rural stays can differ from city hotels. We will explain the proposed accommodation and services so you can decide whether they fit your trip before booking.
Plan the practical details
Share any difficulty with uneven ground or extended road journeys. Pack comfortable walking shoes and layers, and ask us what your planned route requires for the season. We will specify transport arrangements, accommodation, guiding and included meals or fees in your quote. Keep a little flexibility for weather and local access.
